Once upon a time in heaven . . . four soul buddies hatched a plan
to evolve the spiritual consciousness of people living on Earth.
to evolve the spiritual consciousness of people living on Earth.
#1 Theo #2 Molli Nickell #3 Norma Hughes #4 Gary Lund
Their plan involved Soul Buddy #1 (nicknamed Theo) being born into physical life to become a prolific author of children's books.
33 years later, Soul Buddy #2 (Molli Nickell) would follow and become a publisher. She would team with Soul Buddy #4, (Oscar-nominated artist Gary Lund) to create SPIRIT SPEAKS magazine, which would focus on life issues as viewed through the prism of spiritual psychology.
Then, at the appropriate time, Soul Buddy #3, (Norma Hughes), a spiritual healer and channel, would take dictation for Soul Buddy's book, EARTH'S GRAND HOTEL, (after he had passed from physical life). She would deliver this to Soul Buddy #2.
Soul Buddy #2 would publish EARTH'S GRAND HOTEL, which chronicled his journey from life as a physical human being on Earth to life as a non-physical being in Heaven.
His readers and fans (many of them now senior citizens) would experience “oh-my goodness” realizations that even though Soul Buddy #1 had "died" years before, he continued to exist and create books, not much different than when he was in a physical body on Earth. Since he had not been silenced by death . . . neither would they. And neither will you.
BTW: Additional stories from Soul Buddy #1 will make the case for the ongoing-ness
of life and demonstrate that communication twixt heaven and Earth could entertain
and enlighten at the same time.
When Soul Buddy #2 agreed to fulfill her "cosmic civic duty" and partner with her buddies to serve all of humanity, she also decided that, once and for all, she would learn to live fearlessly.
BTW.2: Goal setting is a vital step in soul evolution. Before physical birth, you select goals to
evolve your understanding about free will and choice on planet Earth. Then before birth, you pass
through the Valley of Forgetfulness and promptly forget your plan.
You may think it’s stupid to establish life goals and then immediately lose your memory.
Actually, it’s brilliant. If you knew the outcome of your life up front, you might decide to hang
out on the Good Ship Lollipop and play beer pong instead of zestfully participating in the life
you had chosen.
AS PLANNED . . .
Soul Buddy #1 was born into physical life and became a prolific author who wrote and illustrated dozens of books with worldwide sales of over ONE Billion books. Then, after he departed physical life and returned to Heaven (which he'd nicknamed Earth's Grand Hotel), he set up his studio on the 7th floor.
As scheduled, 33 years later, Soul Buddy #2 was born into a family of caring parents and a jealous older sibling who assisted her in falling out of trees, off garage roofs, and down stairwells, thereby keeping fear alive in her daily life. Soul Buddy #2 (with the help of more than a few guardian angels) survived to adulthood.
She became a student of metaphysics and publisher of spiritual psychology in SPIRIT SPEAKS magazine. Readership ultimately expanded to 100,000+ per issue worldwide.

Soul Buddy #2 (with the help of more than a few guardian angels) survived to adulthood.
She became a student of metaphysics and publisher of spiritual psychology in SPIRIT SPEAKS magazine. Readership ultimately expanded to 100,000+ per issue worldwide.
When Soul Buddy #2 read the manuscript from Soul Buddy #1, she recognized the style of the beloved author whose books she'd passed along to her children and grandchildren. She realized EARTH'S GRAND HOTEL would ease stress about life and anxiety over death for millions of people around the world.
HOWEVER . . .
Before Soul Buddy #2 began the process of publishing EARTH'S GRAND HOTEL, she faced a major business decision about continuing to publish SPIRIT SPEAKS magazine. The cost of printing, paper, soy-based inks, and postage had risen 300%. Should she shift her purpose away from sharing spiritual psychology and support more advertisers in order to remain in business or . . . ?
Soul Buddy #2 opted for a Hail Mary and offered EARTHS GRAND HOTEL to Random House, the company which had published the work of Soul Buddy #1 when he was physically alive and known by a slightly different name. She assumed they would be eager to continue reaping the benefits from one of their best selling authors.
Holy Moly! Was she surprised when the publisher unleashed the attorneys from hell who threatened lawsuits galore against Soul Buddies #2, #3, and #4. Every single person associated with the project was put on notice to "cease and desist any use of the name Dr. Seuss, his characters and trademarks."
Soul Buddy #2 was shocked by their reaction. She became mired in fear of what might happen if she became the target of costly law suits, or what might happen if she failed to fulfill her cosmic civic duty to participate in the project originally planned with Soul Buddies #1, #3, and #4.
And so, Soul Buddy #2, to avoid having to deal with these unknown factors (and face her fears), became totally pissed off at God for not warning her about wasting fifteen years of her life traveling down a dead-end street. She slammed and locked the door of SPIRIT SPEAKS publishing company.
“I quit. I’m through with 16-hour days and non-ending deadlines. I'm going to join a senior triathlon swimming team, coach writers, play with puppies, take naps, read every book by John Grisham, Deane Koontz, and Ernest Hemingway, go out for lunch with friends, travel with my husband, play with our grandchildren, etc., etc., etc. I’m going to live like a normal human being. The heck with this spiritual stuff. It probably isn’t real anyway."
Staying true to her Irish heritage and tendency toward bullheadedness, Soul Buddy #2 stomped away from the spiritual world.

However, Soul Buddy #1 and Soul Buddy #3 refused to give up on her. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, they sent Soul Buddy #2 the manuscript for GREEN. She pinned it on her bulletin board and occasionally (every other year or so), would read the story, become overwhelmed with sadness, guilt, anger, and fear, then stick it right back on the bulletin board.
But then, one afternoon, 27 years after abandoning her chosen life's work, Soul Buddy #2 felt an irresistible urge to dig through storage boxes of SPIRIT SPEAKS’ correspondence.
Hours later, her husband asked, "What 'cha looking for?" She replied, "I won’t know until I find it. Will you please, please mix me a strong gin and tonic . . . like right now?"
Eventually, Soul Buddy #2 found the box crammed with notes and memos and letters that Soul Buddy #1 had transmitted to her via Soul Buddy #3. She also discovered the business plan for a book series that had been discussed almost three decades earlier.
Soul Buddy #2 was astounded at how thoroughly she’d managed to forget everything planned with Soul Buddies #1, #3, and #4.
As she read every document, every note, every scrap of paper . . . over and over and over, Soul Buddy #2 became re-infused with love and admiration for her Soul Buddies and felt boundless enthusiasm to fulfill her agreed-upon cosmic civic duty and bring the project to life.
And so she reassembled the team. However, by that time, Soul Buddy #3 had departed from physical life, and was working with Soul Buddy #1 on the 7th floor and communicated with Soul Buddy #2 and #4 via dreams, early morning thoughts, and nudges of inspiration.
